Oxford Shooting Strikes Michigan

December 8, 2021

On Tuesday November 30, 2021 four students died and several students and teachers were injured in a school shooting at Oxford High School in Oakland County, Michigan.

Later that day; fifteen year old Ethan Crumbley was arrested and charged with one count of terrorism and four counts of first degree murder.

Currently the investigation is underway, and (as of today) a court hearing is already scheduled for December 13, 2021.

Police report that they’ve found powerful evidence proving the guilt of Ethan Crumbley, reporting that they found videos and journal entries that brought up the topic of school violence.

Already the event of the shooting has ricocheted across Michigan, in the form of copycat threats, school closings, and just through fear. In fact EMS has already experienced an effect of the aftershock, though it was handled accordingly and students are confirmed to be safe.

Michigan has come together to remember the lives lost and recognize those hurt and affected. Before the Piston’s played against Thunder they had a dedication to the survivors and lost ones along with a moment of silence. When the Lions played against the Vikings on Sunday December 5th, they wore pre-game t-shirts and decals on their helmets and when they won the game, the head coach dedicated a game ball and then listed the names of the victims.
