![Today DMC got the pleasure to meet Nick Trahair ‘97, the second yearbook editor in chief in 1993. So much has changed since then; the yearbook is handled in a completely different fashion. The complexity of creating a yearbook in 1993 incorporated so many extra steps and the instant feedback we have today was limited to multiple day waits. This goes to show the change in instant gratification over the years into present day 2021.
“When I was in school we had two computers in our classroom, everything was payed out with pencil and paper, and photos had to be developed at Meijer, [taking] multiple days [to process completely]. Todays computers make the yearbook so much easier to catch mistakes, and change layouts on the go.” said Trahair. DMC loved to hear all of his stories with early yearbook editing; DMC students are grateful for the accessibility we have today.
